About Me

Bonjour! Hello! My name is Ventrem. I'm a physics major currently living in the US who started this website some time ago because I was bored. My first language is english but I also speak french pretty fluently (still improving my vocabulary). I spend most of my freetime playing video games or reading through my massive collection of books. I am a transgender man, but I'm not super fond of talking about it due to some past experiences with people. It may come up from time to time in my writing and blogs though!
Anywho, enjoy exploring my site!

Job Applications

27 May 2026

Since graduating high school, I am officially unemployed. I used to work as auditorium staff in my school's auditorium, it was minimum wage ($15 where I live), but it was skilled work. I was required to train and retrain on every system in the auditorium. I am more than able to run and set up a light board, camera system, or sound system (less so the sound, sound boards are scary). However, now that I've graduated I can't work there. So, I'm on the hunt for a job over the summer (already a tough task). Every food place and convenience store is fully staffed and not hiring, my local library is only hiring people with college degrees or former library experience, and it's no longer plausable to put up a poster on main street saying you can walk dogs and babysit. Thus, I turned to the internet. I set up a care.com profile and paid the $23 for a background check (why it costs that much is beyond me). Still, there are so few jobs and nobody gives any information about what they actually want. I am more than qualified for dog walking, I walk my husky every day (and if you know huskys, you know how strong they are). Still there are no jobs; even the handful I've found won't hire me. I'm only asking minimum wage, I know how to take care of a dog, I've babysat family for years (AND I HAVE CPR/FIRST AID TRAINING), but still, no jobs. I'm already terrified about finding work once I have my degree, but when I can't even find work that has always been reliable for teenagers, I don't know what to do. I also can't work certain jobs due to my disability. I just pray my university sets me up with a good internship because I may actually lose my mind if I am forced into a desk job (no offense to those with desk jobs, I just can't do that kind of work without losing my mind and ending up in a breakdown). It's just infuriating to see in real time that jobs that have existed forever are essentially non-existant because nobody can afford kids or pets, especially not when you also have to pay someone to take care of them.
I don't know. If I can't get a job once I'm in college I don't know what I'm gonna do. Theres just too many expenses with college, not to mention the $85 I have to spend for my medication every month and the fact that I am desprate to get top surgery (and considering leaving the US for good).

The Minecraft Phase

24 May 2026

Recently I went on my final high school field trip. While sitting in the hotel room waiting to leave I re-downloaded Minecraft on my phone to kill time. This sparked a new "Minecraft phase" for me. It's been nice coming back to a game I've loved for years; especially now that I've developed a sense of style. My current survival world (that will hopefully stick around) is still in its early stages, but it's already further along than most. I'm planning on doing something grand, one final hurrah before I have to head off to college in the fall. Currently I'm planning out a grand cathedral inspired by Bloodborne. Something gothic and eerie to go along with the village I'm renovating. It's interesting how our interests often culminate into one massive ouroboros consuming parts of other interests to create who we are as a person. That's a part of why I love Minecraft, it allows me to create a mishmash of all my interests and it doesn't limit me from changing and building on what's already there. Regardless, it's nice to go back to something familiar before I'm tossed to the great unknown that is adulthood.
